It looks like Alien Swarm is quite popular nowadays. We have already seen co-op shooters from Valve before, you all remember Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, but Alien Swarm is something different. It's a remake of an old UT2004 mod and unlike other shooters it is using top-down camera. Although it is using this camera it doesn't mean that this game isn't fun or boring. Alien Swarm will offer you decent amount of fun if you prefer co-op campaigns, leveling up, different sorts of weapons and aliens. As you can see Alien Swarm provides lot of fun but the main problem is the game's top-down camera. It can be quite uncomfortable to use at times because you're limited in 2D plain and you can easily shoot your own allies so you have to watch your fire. But if you prefer good old first person action and shooting you can enjoy it in Alien Swarm as well, at least until Valve patches this.

If you want to enjoy Alien Swarm in first person you'll need to enable developer console first. You do that by going to Options > Keyboard > Enable developer console. Now when you have your console enabled you just need to start a game and pause it and call the console. You do that simply by pressing the ~ button that is located left from the 1 button. After you've done that you just need to type following lines:

After that game switches to first person mode, and you're able to manually aim. It might now feel like a first person shooter that way, because you can't see your weapon but it can be easier to play that way. Overall, it makes a game bit more interesting and different that way so make sure that you try it before Valve patches it.
